is rooting similar to jailbreakin iphone???
in case i root will i be able to get apps like “iapcracker” which cracks the payment option nd makes the purchase free!!

The case is different with Android. You can download paid apps for free without rooting also. Google for “app name” +apk. Download the apk, copy to your android sdcard, and install. Rooting gives you access to android system files. You can do more complex things if your phone is rooted like overclocking, etc.

I have recently bought a micromax funbook tab p300 which is with android ics 4.0.3 pre-rooted. I want to connect my BSNL 3g 7.2 mbps usb dongle version lw273 v.1.2 (hardware v.1.0) to it and use BSNL internet whenever I go to a different place. I tried to connect my bsnl mobile sim with it and gave the APN details as BSNL and bsnlnet, but it won’t connect. Please suggest a solution as I do not intend to buy another usb dongle as I am using it for personal purpose only. Both wired broadband (through the usb) and wi-fi is not a problem. Also, the dongle is working very well on my laptop (ubuntu 12.04) and windows. I am not a software guy.
